Rumour: Next Porsche Cayman to be full-electric

According to a media report, the next-generation Porsche Cayman could go full-electric.

It is said that the 911 maybe difficult to electrify for now, but an electric Cayman could be a good step into the future. The car is expected to be based on an all-new platform that could be shared with other brands. It is said that prototypes with different battery concepts and body styles are undergoing final assessment. A decision is expected to be taken in the next 12 months. The all-electric sportscar could be sold in China, Europe and the USA.

Porsche is looking to electrify 50% of its sales by 2025. The car maker unveiled the all-electric Taycan last week. It is expected to be followed by an all-electric Macan, which could be launched in 2022.
