Rumour: Nissan X-Trail launch pushed to 2016 Auto Expo

Earlier this week, we had reported that Nissan was planning to launch the new X-Trail in India during the 2015 festive season. However, it appears that the Japanese company has postponed the launch by some months. According to a media report, the SUV will now be launched at the Auto Expo, which is scheduled to be held in February 2016 at Greater Noida.

The third-generation X-Trail is built on Renault-Nissan's CMF-CD platform. It looks more modern compared to the model that was sold in India earlier. The new X-Trail follows the same design language as other current-day Nissan SUVs.

Like the exteriors, the interiors of the car have also been redesigned to look more modern as well. The interiors have a beige and black theme and feature seven seats.

In India, Nissan is likely to us a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder dCi diesel engine to powered the X-Trail. It will be mated to a CVT gearbox and a four-wheel drive system.
