Rumour: No AWD & AT option on Mahindra XUV500 BS6

According to a media report, the Mahindra XUV500 BS6 is likely to get an updated 2.2-litre diesel engine but will not get an all-wheel drive option.

The report suggests that the XUV500 BS6 could be offered in four variants - W5, W7, W9 and W11. All variants are likely to get a 6-speed manual gearbox and may not get an automatic transmission option.

It has also been reported that the 2.2-litre diesel engine is expected to get upgrades like a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) in order to comply with BS6 emission regulations. Overall output is expected to be similar to the BS4 unit.
