Rumour: Renault compact sedan to rival Maruti Dzire

According to a media report, Renault is working on a compact sedan to compete in the sub-4 meter segment. It could be launched sometime in 2021.

The report states that the new compact sedan is likely to be based on the CMF-A+ platform. This is the same architecture that underpins the Triber and the upcoming HBC compact SUV.

While the new car is expected to be developed for the Indian market, Renault could export it to other emerging markets like Latin America, South East Asia and Africa.

The Renault compact sedan is expected to compete with models like the Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire, Tata Tigor and VW Ameo.
