Rumour: Tata Harrier bookings open on October 15, 2018

A prospective customer who had shown interest in purchasing the upcoming Tata Harrier on the carmaker's website recently received a call from Tata Motors informing him that bookings for the said SUV will commence on October 15, 2018. Bookings can be made online or via an authorised dealership. However, the exact booking amount and cancellation details were not provided.

When the customer enquired about this at his local dealership, he was told that he could place an order for the SUV by paying a refundable deposit of Rs. 21,000.

The Harrier is based on the OMEGA platform and is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 140 BHP. The engine is likely to be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

There is no word about the SUV's launch date.
