Rumour: Toyota Innova Crysta ZX to now get 16" rims

The Toyota Innova Crysta's ZX variant will now come shod with 205/65 R16 tyres, instead of the 215/55 R17 tyres. According to dealer information, the aforementioned change will be made to all Innova Crysta models manufactured in 2017.

In our official review, we had mentioned that though the 17-inch wheels look really neat, they aren’t a practical choice for the comfort-inclined MPV segment. The larger wheels result in a smaller side wall that not only degrades the ride quality, but also makes the wheels prone to damage, especially on our pothole-laden roads. They are also more expensive to replace as compared to the 16-inchers.

Toyota too now seems to acknowledge the above-mentioned limitations of larger wheels on the Innova. This might be the primary reason behind the 17" rims making way for a more practical set of 16" wheels, on both MT and AT variants of the Innova Crysta ZX.
