Rumour: Yamaha R7, MT07 India launch before end-2022

Yamaha also plans to bring the MT-09 to India, but may rule out the Tenere 700.

Yamaha plans to introduce the R7 and MT-07 models in India before the end of 2022.

According to a media report, the bike maker plans to import both bikes in small numbers via the CBU route. Yamaha is also looking to avoid the OBD-2 regulations by bringing the bikes in this year.

It is said that the launch of the R7 and MT-07 may be pushed to 2024, if Yamaha is unable to import them by the end of this year. Both bikes are powered by a 689cc parallel-twin engine that puts out 72 BHP and 67 Nm.

It has also been reported that Yamaha intends to bring the MT-09 to India, but may rule out the Tenere 700.
