Rumour: You can no longer book a Toyota Innova Crysta Diesel

The diesel version of the Innova Crysta is likely to be reserved for the fleet market.

Toyota dealerships across India have reportedly stopped taking bookings for the Innova Crysta diesel.

Reports suggest that the Toyota bookings system no longer allows dealers to place orders for the diesel variants of the Innova Crysta. Customers who already have one on order will get delivery. However, the company can’t guarantee the same for new bookings. It is unclear if this is a temporary pause or if Toyota is looking to discontinue the Innova diesel altogether.

Meanwhile, Toyota has lined up the Innova HyCross with a strong hybrid powertrain for launch. It is expected to replace the current Innova Crysta petrol. Reports also suggest that the diesel version will be reserved for the fleet market.

At present, the Innova Crysta comes with two engine options. It includes a 2.7-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit producing 164 BHP and 245 Nm and a 2.4-litre diesel engine with 148 BHP and 360 Nm on tap. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic.
