Sales trends of luxury cars in India - From 2007 to 2019

According to the luxury car sales figures, from 2007 to 2019, Mercedes-Benz has been the most consistent luxury car maker in India.

During this period, Mercedes-Benz was the best-selling luxury car maker for seven years. In 2019, the company's sales fell below the 15,000 mark and was the lowest in three years. It also registered the highest year-on-year degrowth in the past 13 years. In the same year, BMW registered a year-on-year fall of 13%.

After a steady growth in sales till 2015, Audi's sales fell 31% in 2016, 18% in 2018 and 29% in 2019. At present, they have only 3 cars on sale in India.

Jaguar Land Rover was the only carmaker to register a growth in sales in 2019. The carmaker also sold more cars than Audi, taking the no. 3 spot. Its sales touched the 5,000 mark for the first time. Volvo showed continuous growth since 2011, but sales fell 15% year-on-year in 2019.
