SCOOP: 2015 Toyota Innova spied testing near Bangalore

Thanks to BHPian tharian for sharing these pictures with us.

Back in December 2013, we had reported that the recent facelift was the last that the current generation Toyota Innova would be receiving. There would be an all-new Innova hitting our market in 2015 (link to News Article). Not surprisingly, Toyota has started testing the all-new version of the popular MPV on Indian roads. Snapped near Bangalore, the new Innova appears to sport redesigned front and rear ends.

The front has a more SUV-ish look with a raised bonnet with a larger and more imposing grille and large swept-back headlamps.

Viewed from the side, the new car appears to have similar doors and windows to the current model. However, the design of the glass for the third row seems to have been changed. The new glass is longer at the top than the bottom - much like the Mitsubishi Outlander. Also the ground clearance and the overhangs of the MPV seem to have been increased. The car also sports redesigned alloy wheels and a shark fin antenna.

At the back there is a pair of new horizontal wrap-around tail lamp clusters. The rear wiper has also been replaced with a smaller, more modern unit.

The current generation Toyota Innova has been with us since 2005 - a period of nine years, which is a long time. During this period, Toyota has given it some facelifts to keep it looking fresh. However, it is now getting rather long in the tooth and it is about time the company replaces it.
