Scoop! 8th-gen BMW 5 Series spotted undisguised in India

The G60 BMW 5 Series is likely to be launched this festive season.

The eight-generation BMW 5 Series has been spotted in India. The car was seen on a flatbed outside the Global Automotive Research Centre (GARC) in Oragadam, Chennai.

The G60 BMW 5 Series made its global debut last year. It is likely to be launched in the Indian market this festive season.

Reports suggest that we might get the long-wheelbase version of the 5 Series in India. However, the car seen in these images appears to be the standard wheelbase version. It will compete with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The new 5 Series is likely to be offered with 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engine options. Both engines will be paired with a mild-hybrid system and an 8-speed automatic transmission.

We might also get the i5 eDrive40 variant, which uses an 81.2 kWh battery, offering a maximum range of 582 km on a single charge.
