Jeep is expected to launch the Compass SUV in India in August this year. Ahead of its official launch, brochure images of the India-spec Compass have surfaced, revealing the variant-wise feature distribution and other details.

According to the leaked images, the Compass will be offered in India with 5 variants: Sport, Longitude, Longitude (O), Limited and Limited (O). The Longitude and Longitude (O) variants will only be available with a diesel engine, while all other trims will get both - petrol and diesel engine options. The SUV will be available in 5 colour options - Vocal White, Brilliant Black, Minimal Grey, Hydro Blue and Exotica Red.

The entry-level Sport variant comes with 16-inch steel wheels, halogen headlamps, incandescent taillights, a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, all black interiors, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, front airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, ABS with EBD, 4 disc brakes and electric parking brake.

The Longitude trim will add 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels, front & rear fog lamps, push button start, rear parking sensors and black and beige dual tone interiors. Meanwhile, the Longitude (O) will come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual zone climate control, black roof rails and projector headlamps.

The Compass Limited will get all aforementioned features, but will also come with LED taillamps, rear camera, leather wrapped seats and steering wheel, door scuff plates, Ski-Grey interiors and AWD transmission option with Selec Terrain system. The 4x4 models will further get front side and curtain airbags. The Limited (O) will be available with HID headlamps and dual-tone paint scheme with gloss black treatment on the roof.

In India, the Jeep Compass will be available with two engine options - a 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel. The petrol engine will be rated at 160 BHP and 250 Nm, while the diesel version is expected to churn out 170 BHP and 350 Nm of torque. It is expected to compete against the likes of the Hyundai Tucson and the VW Tiguan.
