Scoop: Maruti Suzuki Baleno variants and specs leaked

Maruti Suzuki will introduce the Baleno hatchback in India on October 26, 2015. With just a few weeks to go for the launch, the variants and specifications of the car have been leaked.

The Baleno measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width and 1,500 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,520 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm. The car will be available in 7 colours - Solid Fire Red, Premium Urban Blue, Metallic Premium Silver, Autumn Orange, Ray Blue, Pearl Arctic White and Granite Grey.

The car will be available with a choice of two engines:

• 1.2-litre, VVT petrol, 83 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm @ 4,000 rpm
• 1.3-litre, DDiS diesel, 74 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm @ 2,000 rpm

The Baleno will come in 4 trim levels - Sigma,  Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Here is a look at the features that will be available on each trim level.

Sigma:

• 60:40 split seat
• Full wheel cover
• Keyless entry
• Power windows for all 4 doors
• CVT variant

Zeta:

• UV-cut glass
• Telescopic steering
• Leather wrapped gear knob and steering
• LED DRLs
• Auto IRVM
• Auto headlights with follow-me-home function
• Alloy wheels
• Height adjustable driver seat
• Keyless entry and go
• Front fog lights

Alpha:

• Projector headlights
• Reverse parking camera
• Co-driver vanity lamp
• Touch screen audio with navigation

The Zeta and Alpha variants will get 16-inch alloy wheels shod with 195/55-R16 section tyres.

The Baleno will be positioned above the Swift in Maruti's model line-up and sold through the company's NEXA dealership network.
