Scoop! Tata Altroz turbo petrol briefly appears on website

The Tata Altroz turbo petrol made a brief appearance on Tata Motors' official website before it was taken down.

Images of the Altroz turbo petrol had appeared under the features and downloads section of the website. The car looks similar to the standard Altroz except for that 'iturbo' badge on the black rear fascia. The smoked tail lamps and alloy wheels are similar to the non-turbo version as well.

According to a leaked document, the Altroz will be offered with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 108 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 140 Nm @ 1,500-5,500 rpm. It is expected to be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. It could also get a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

At present, the Altroz comes with a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 85 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 3,300 rpm and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel unit that puts out 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm @ 1,250-3,000 rpm. Both engines come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
