Tata has started production of the Tiago AMT, ahead of its official launch in the coming months. Interiors of the AMT variants have been photographed at the production floors, giving a look at the new gearshift lever installed in the Tiago's automatic variants.

The images reveal that the Tiago AMT will get a gear shift lever which will be similar to what is seen on the Zest AMT. The gearbox in question will be a 5-speed with an AMT unit sourced from Magneti Marelli. Maruti Suzuki also sources its AMT units for the Celerio from Magneti Marelli.

Tata will initially be launching the AMT gearbox only with the petrol variants. The automaker hasn't yet announced the variants which will receive the automatic transmission option. Reports also suggest that the Tiago diesel might also be launched with the AMT gearbox in the distant future.
