Scoop: Tata Tiago special edition caught!

Thanks to the Team-BHP fan (he prefers to remain anonymous) who sent this information and image in. Heartfelt gratitude for sharing it with other enthusiasts via this page!

A single test mule of a special edition of the Tata Tiago has been spotted. The Tiago special edition will be based on the XT variant and not the top-end XZ variant.

As seen in the image, the Tiago Limited Edition gets a blacked-out roof and gloss black ORVM housings. A 13-inch steel wheel is seen on the car instead of the standard 14-inch unit. Tata has dropped the XT mascot for a new 'wizz' badge and has also added a 'Limited Edition' badge.

According to the information received, the car also gets blue dotted wheel rims (we're not sure what that means). Tata has made some changes to the interior as well for the Limited edition. These include manually operated ORVMs and a standard IRVM instead of an anti-glare type. Additionally, the passenger side vanity mirror has been deleted. The dashboard is new and the center fascia is finished in piano black with berry red highlights. Tata has improved the quality of the seat fabric on this variant.

Mechanically, the Tiago Limited Edition will likely be similar to the standard car. It has yet not been confirmed whether both petrol and diesel variants would be offered in Limited Edition guise. That said, the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine makes 83 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm @ 3,500 rpm. The 1.05-litre diesel on the other hand produces 68 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm @ 1,800-3,000 rpm. Both engines are mated to 5-speed manual gearboxes.
