Volkswagen and Argo AI will commence testing the autonomous driving tech on the all-electric ID.BUZZ microbus, this summer.

Volkswagen and Argo AI (US-based self-driving startup) have announced that international trials of the autonomous driving technology in the all-electric ID.Buzz microbus will commence this summer. The first self-driving prototypes of the electric bus will undergo testing in Munich, Germany.

Volkswagen also stated that it aims to introduce the self-driving electric bus in the market by 2025. These vehicles will be deployed in the commercial space, used for transport and delivery services.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will develop the vehicles, while Argo AI will install its self-driving systems in them. The vehicles will be based on the Volkswagen ID.BUZZ, which is scheduled to have its world premiere next year.
