Skoda aims to sell over 60,000 units in 2022

Skoda aims to sell 30,000 units this year and more than double that in 2022.

Earlier this week, Skoda launched the Kushaq in India. Despite the premium pricing, the company has high hopes for its first 'Made-for-India' crossover offering.

Zac Hollis, Brand Director, Sales and Marketing, Skoda Auto India, has stated in an interview that the company aims to sell 30,000 units this year. That's almost three times the number of cars Skoda sold last year.

The company also has an ambitious target of doubling its sales in 2022. According to Hollis, Skoda aims to more than double its sales from 30,000 units in FY2021 to over 60,000 units in FY2022.

New product launches would be the key to increasing its market share. Skoda has already launched two new models this year - the Kushaq and the new Octavia. The carmaker is also working on a new mid-size sedan that is expected to be positioned above the Rapid. It will also be based on the MQB A0 IN platform and unveiled by the end of this year.
