Skoda Auto VW India has achieved a new production milestone with the rollout of the 500,000th unit.
Skoda Auto VW India, a subsidiary of the VW Group, operates two production facilities in India – one in Pune and the other in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Skoda first rolled out the Octavia from its Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar facility in 2001.
According to Skoda, out of the 500,000 units built, 70% were manufactured at the Pune facility, while the remaining were built at the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar plant.
Today, the company not only produces cars for the domestic market, but CKD kits of the Kushaq and Slavia are also exported to Vietnam.
Skoda recently registered its highest-ever half-yearly sales in India. The carmaker sold 36,194 units between January and June 2025, recording a growth of 134% over the same period last year.
