Skoda India brand director Ashish Gupta has confirmed that the Octavia RS will be launched in India this year. “The Octavia RS is something that we will definitely bring to India this year,” Gupta said.
The Octavia RS was showcased in India during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January. It will be imported into India via the CBU route and is expected to cost upwards of Rs 50 lakh.
The RS is a sportier version of the standard Octavia and gets subtle design tweaks that give it an aggressive look. The car has a blacked-out front grille, sporty bumpers, dual exhausts and a lip spoiler at the back. 18-inch wheels are standard, but you also have the option of 19-inch rims.
On the inside, you get sporty bucket seats, a 3-spoke steering wheel, a large central touchscreen and carbon fibre and Alcantara trim on the dashboard.
The Octavia RS uses a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 261 BHP and 270 Nm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
