Skoda has silently removed the 1.5-litre 6-speed MT variants of the Slavia and Kushaq from its official website. The bigger turbo-petrol engine is now available solely with a 7-speed DSG.
Skoda’s 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 148 BHP and 250 Nm is the engine to have, if you’re an enthusiast. The 6-speed manual only made the driving experience even more engaging. However, it seems there were fewer takers at the price point at which it was being offered.
The 6-speed manual gearbox is now reserved for the smaller 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which also gets a 6-speed automatic option. This unit puts out 114 BHP and 178 Nm.
Prices for the Skoda Slavia 1.5L start at Rs 16.69 lakh, while the Kushaq 1.5L starts at Rs 16.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
