Skoda Slavia production kicks-off at brand's Chakan plant

Prices of the Skoda Slavia are expected to be announced in March 2022.

Skoda has announced that the series production of the Slavia is underway. The sedan is being built at the brand's Chakan plant.

The Skoda Slavia is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which also underpins the Kushaq. The car is due to go on sale in March 2022 and will be offered in three variants: Active, Ambition and Style.

The Slavia comes equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 2-spoke steering wheel, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats in the front, wireless charging and 6 airbags.

Powering the mid-size sedan is a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 113 BHP / 178 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor producing 148 BHP / 250 Nm. These are the same engines that are available in the Kushaq. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed DSG.
