The Skoda Slavia could be offered with the same engine options as the Kushaq.

Skoda has confirmed that its upcoming mid-size sedan will be called 'Slavia'. It will be revealed by the end of this year.

The Skoda Slavia will be the second model under the India 2.0 project, after the Kushaq.

The 'Slavia' name dates back to when Vaclav Laurin and Vaclav Klement first started repairing bicycles in Mlada Boleslav. Soon they began designing their own bikes, successfully marketing them under the Slavia brand name from 1896 onwards.

The Skoda Slavia is expected to be based on the MQB A0 IN platform. It could be offered with the same engine options as the Kushaq. These include a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 114 BHP and 175 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor packing 148 BHP and 250 Nm. Transmission options might include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed DSG.
