Solo road trip on my Bullet 350: Riding along the west coast

The overall fuel efficiency of my Royal Enfield varied from 37 to 39 km/l.

BHPian jetsetgo08 recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Returned from a week-long 1800 km solo ride through the Konkan coast.

Route details

Hyderabad-> Kolhapur -> Ratnagiri -> Ganpatipule -> Malvan -> Arambol -> Kolhapur -> Hyderabad

Longest distance covered in a day - 540kms (Hyd-Kolhapur & Kolhapur-Hyd) in 10.5 hrs.

Best FE achieved - 41.2 kmpl

Overall FE varied from 37 to 39 kmpl all measured from tankful to tankful. This includes ghat roads, worst conditions or no roads in certain stretches. E.g. Kolhapur - Ratnagiri road was under construction for the most part including the Amba ghat. Glad that the tyres took it all. Although they are not grippy, a puncture would have left me stranded for hours without any help.

Highest speed touched - 95kmph

Feels rock solid and unaffected by crosswinds at speeds. However, I mostly maintained speeds around 75-80kmph on open roads. Forget cars, it was hilarious being overtaken by scooters and commuter bikes even at those speeds on the highways.

Due to the good low end torque, barely had to downshift to the 1st gear on the hairpin bends in ghat roads.

The stock seats have the right cushioning. Did not experience any tail bone pain but the rear will get numb after a long time on the saddle.

Halogen lights are effective enough, both in distance and spread.
