Suzuki Gixxer bookings commence; specifications revealed

Suzuki Motorcycle India had showcased the Gixxer 150 cc motorcycle at the 2014 Auto Expo, which was held earlier this year. Now the company has started accepting bookings for the bike. Some of the details of the bike have also been revealed.

The Gixxer is available in five body colours - grey, red, black, blue and white. The bike is 2050 mm long, 785 mm wide and 1030 mm high with a wheelbase of 1330 mm. It weighs 135 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres.

Powering the Gixxer is a 154.9 cc, carburetted, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that develops 14 bhp @ 8000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque @ 6000 rpm. The engine features Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Suzuki has equipped the bike with an electric starter.

The Gixxer has a telescopic fork front suspension and a monoshock at the rear. Stopping power is provided by a single disc brake at the front and drum at the rear. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 100/80-17 and 140/60R-17 section tubeless tyres at the front and rear respectively.

Other features include a sporty-looking right side-mounted exhaust, LED tail lamp and digital instrument cluster.
