Taliban unveils their first indigenously built supercar

The car will initially be sold in Afghanistan, before one day being sold internationally as well.

Taliban-ruled Afghanistan is said to have unveiled their first supercar called 'Mada 9'. The new indigenously built supercar is said to have taken five years to develop and is currently still in its prototype stage.

The supercar is said to have been developed by 30 engineers from ENTOP (the car manufacturer) & Kabul's Afghanistan Technical Vocational Institute (ATVI). The indigenously built Mada 9 is said to be powered by a modified Toyota Corolla engine, however, performance figures of the supercar are yet to be revealed. ENTOP also stated that they will fit the Mada 9 with an electric powertrain at a later stage.

According to reports, the car was unveiled at the ENTOP headquarters by Taliban's Higher Education Minister, Abdul Baqi Haqqani. At the unveil, Haqqani stated that the car helps prove the Taliban regime's commitment to offering "religion & modern sciences for its people". Adding to this, Mohammad Riza Ahmadi, CEO of ENTOP said that the supercar will help boost the image of Afghanistan on the world stage while also "conveying the value of knowledge to its people".
