Tata H5X officially named as Tata Harrier

The production version of the Tata H5X Concept has been christened Tata Harrier. It is expected to be launched in the first half of 2019.

The Tata Harrier will be the first vehicle to feature the Impact Design 2.0 design language. The latest teaser images indicate that the Harrier gets a V-shaped grille flanked by slim headlamp clusters. It has a dual-tone exterior with blacked-out roof panel and pillars as well as a chrome trim along the top edges of the windows. The Harrier has a raked rear windshield with an integrated roof spoiler and slim wraparound tail lights.

The Tata Harrier is a 5-seater monocoque SUV based on Tata's new Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced (OMEGA) architecture, which has been developed in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover and is derived from the Land Rover D8 platform.

Tata Motors hasn't announced the powertrains that will be offered on the Harrier. The SUV is rumoured to be powered by a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 140 BHP and is likely to be paired with a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission.
