Tata Motors electric car sales cross the 10,000 unit mark

In FY2022, Tata Motors' market share in the EV segment rose to over 70%.

Tata Motors has achieved a new milestone as electric vehicle (EV) sales cross the 10,000 unit mark.

In FY2022, Tata Motors' market share in the EV segment rose to over 70%. Sales crossed the 1,000 unit mark in August this year.

The Nexon EV has been the most popular electric model in Tata's EV portfolio. The crossover uses a 127 BHP electric motor that is powered by a 30.2 kWh battery pack. It is said to offer an ARAI certified range of 312 km (MIDC cycle). The battery can be charged to 80% of its capacity using a DC fast charger in 1 hour. Using a standard AC charger, it takes 8-9 hours to charge to 100%.

Last month, Tata introduced the Tigor EV at a starting price of Rs. 11.99 lakh. The car comes with an electric motor that produces 74 BHP and 170 Nm. It is powered by a 26 kWh battery pack that offers an ARAI certified range of 306 km.

The carmaker has also forayed into the fleet segment with the Xpres-T electric sedan.
