Tata Nexon gets 5-stars in Global NCAP crash test

The Tata Nexon has scored a 5-star rating for adult occupant safety in Global NCAP crash tests. The compact SUV scored a 3-star rating for child occupant safety.

According to the test report, the Nexon offered good and adequate protection to the head and chest regions respectively of the front occupants. It offered good knee protection to both driver and passenger. 

With a 3-year old on-board, the child seat was able to prevent excessive forward movement during the impact. The car offered good protection for the head and marginal protection to the chest. Protection for the head and chest area of an 18-month old child was found to be good. Further, the bodyshell and footwell area of the vehicle was rated as stable.

The test vehicle was equipped with front seat belts with pretensioners, driver and passenger airbags, seat belt reminder, ISOFIX child seat anchors and ABS.
