Tata Nexon published on International Dismantling Info System

The Tata Nexon is India's first car to be published on the International Dismantling Information System (IDIS) for End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV).

IDIS is a central repository of ‘Manufacturer Compiled Information’. It is used by more than 25 manufacturers from over 40 countries across Europe and Asia.

Now that the Nexon is also part of it, Tata Motors will provide information for vehicle handling that will enable the Indian Authorised Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (AVSF) to undertake dismantling of the vehicle in an environmentally safe manner. Tata will provide information on draining automotive fluids, the neutralization of airbags and seat belt tensioners as well as for dismantling of components containing hazardous substances.

The government is working on a vehicle scrappage policy for India. The publishing of the Nexon ELV process on IDIS is said to complement the government's initiative.

The Tata Nexon was also the first Indian car to score a 5-star rating in Global NCAP crash tests.
