Tata to showcase sedan concept at 2018 Geneva Motor Show

Tata Motors will be showcasing a new concept at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show in March. It will reportedly preview an upcoming sedan that is likely to compete with the Honda City and Hyundai Verna in the Indian market.

Tata Motors has released a teaser image of the upcoming concept that partially reveals its front fascia. The styling is expected to be based on Tata's Impact 2.0 design language and will feature slim LED headlights and LED DRLs. According to a media report, it will be based on the Advanced Modular Platform (AMP) and will have a coupe-like roofline.

Media reports suggest that the production-spec car could be offered with retuned versions of the Revotron petrol and Revotorq diesel engines paired with a manual gearbox. Tata might also offer a dual-clutch transmission on its new sedan. It is rumoured that a sportier JTP version and a hybrid could also be on the cards.

That said, according to the report, the Tata Motors board hasn't given its go-ahead for the project which is estimated to cost around Rs. 400 crore.
