Tata Tiago launched in India at Rs. 3.20 lakh

Tata Motors has launched the Tiago hatchback in India at prices starting from Rs. 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car is available in five variants - XB, XE, XM, XT and XZ.

The Tiago measures 3,746 mm in length, 1,647 mm in width and 1,535 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,400 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm. The car has 242 litre boot and a 35 litre fuel tank.

The Tiago features Tata Motors' new 'Impact' design language. At the front, it has a honeycomb mesh grille, smoked headlamps, a bumper with a wide air dam and round fog lamps with chrome-lined enclosures. The sides of the car feature blackened B-Pillars, body-coloured door handles and ORVMs with integrated turn indicators. At the rear the Tiago gets a curved tailgate with an integrated spoiler, and wraparound tail lamps. The car rides on 14-inch alloy wheels shod with 175/65 section tyres.

On the inside, the Tiago gets a dual tone dashboard, a multifunction steering wheel and fabric upholstery. The car is equipped with features such as a height adjustable driver's seat, a multi-information display and a Harman-developed ConnectNext infotainment system with 8 speakers and USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity. The car also comes with applications such as the Turn-by-Turn Navi app and the Juke-Car app. Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors.

The Tiago is available with a choice of two engines - one petrol and one diesel. Both come with the Multi-Drive feature, which gives the driver the option to choose between 2 driving modes - City and Eco. The petrol engine is a 1,199cc, 3-cylinder Revotron unit that puts out 84 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque @ 3,500 rpm. The diesel motor is a 1,047cc, 3-cylinder Revotorq unit that develops 69 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm @ 1,800-3,000 rpm. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The ARAI-certified fuel economy figures for the petrol and diesel engines stand at 23.84 kpl and 27.28 kpl respectively.

Colour options for the Tiago include Espresso Brown, Pearlescent White, Platinum Silver, Striker Blue, Sunburst Orange and Berry Red.
