Tesla Roadster capable of 0-100 km/h in 1.1 seconds!

The upcoming Tesla Roadster claims it can accelerate from 0 - 100 km/h in just 1.1 seconds, with its SpaceX performance pack.

Tesla announced the second-generation Roadster almost three years back. However, over the years the company has repeatedly delayed the electric sports car citing various reasons. The latest reports though do suggest that the Tesla Roadster is finally expected to enter production in 2022.

In line with this, Tesla recently displayed the prototype of the Roadster at the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles. While there were no significant changes to the design or interiors of the car, the plaque placed in front of the EV seemed to catch a lot of attention.

The sign provided certain details of the upcoming Tesla Roadster, along with a few claims. According to this sign, the car will receive a SpaceX performance package, allowing the EV to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 1.1 seconds.

The Tesla Roadster is said to be powered by lightweight lithium-ion batteries with its 'Plaid' powertrain. This will feature one electric motor on the front axle and two electric motors at the rear. The Roadster without the SpaceX performance pack will still have an impressive 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 1.9 seconds.

However, Tesla is yet to make any official statement regarding the upcoming Roadster or its acceleration claims.
