Thailand: 2023 Honda City facelift spied testing

The Honda City facelift will rivals the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Maruti Ciaz & Hyundai Verna, if launched in India.

The Honda City sedan could soon be getting an update. Spy images have captured a partially camouflaged Honda City undergoing testing in Thailand, indicating that the 5th-gen sedan could soon be getting a facelift.

As per reports, the 2023 Honda City facelift could get a sportier-looking front end. The spy image showcases the City sedan featuring a black grille upfront without the thick chrome bar on top. The front bumper is completely camouflaged, indicating it could get some significant updates in terms of the air dam and the fog lamp housing. The spy image also showcases the test mule with black alloys and ORVMs. Reports also suggest that the new City facelift also features side skirts and a new spoiler at the rear, along with a redesigned rear bumper.

The sedan is also expected to get a bunch of updates on the interior, as well. However, these changes remain to be seen.

Internationally, the 2023 Honda City facelift is offered with two petrol engine options: a 122 BHP/173 Nm 3-cylinder 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit and the familiar 1.5-litre hybrid-petrol engine offered in India. There is no confirmation yet whether this update will make it into India. However, if it does, it could prove to be a competitive rival to the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna & the likes.
