Tork T6X - India's first all-electric motorcycle launched

Tork Motors, a Pune-based electric mobility startup, has unveiled its first indigenously developed electric motorcycle - the T6X. Priced at Rs. 1,24,999, the Tork T6X is India's first all-electric motorcycle. The company has started accepting pre-bookings of the bike. It will initially be available only in three cities in the first phase - Pune, Bangalore and Delhi.

The company claims that the T6X can deliver a range of 100 kms on a full charge, while its top speed is 100 km/h. The bike can be charged through a standard 15A power supply. Tork further mentioned that the T6X can be charged to 80% in one hour, while a full charge will take two hours. The battery pack is said to have a life of around 80,000 - 1,00,000 kms. The company has set up six charging stations in Pune and Lonavala, while it aims to take this number to 100 by establishing new stations in Pune, Bangalore and Delhi.

Weighing just 130 kg, the Tork T6X has a torque rating of 27 Nm. It is supplied juice from a lithium-ion battery pack which is IP67 certified water + dust resistant. The bike also comes with the company's signature TIROS intelligence system, that offers different riding modes. The TIROS system can even download over the air updates for the bike. The T6X has features like ABS, a fully digital infotainment display, anti-theft system, front and rear disc brakes, geo-fencing, GPS navigation and LED Daytime Running Lamps.

Kapil Shilke, Founder and Director of Tork Motors, mentioned that the company is adequately funded to ensure sustainable operations. Ola cabs founder Bhavesh Agarwal and Angel Investor Ankit Bhati have already invested an undisclosed amount in the electric mobility firm. They have completed establishing a manufacturing facility at Chakan, just outside Pune. Tork is currently aiming to sell 5,000 to 10,000 units per month.
