Toyota bZ4X electric SUV concept unveiled

Toyota bZ4X electric SUV concept unveiled globally. Toyota is planning to start its worldwide sales from mid-2022.

Toyota has unveiled its all-new electric SUV concept, the bZ4X. The new battery electric vehicle (BEV) from Toyota has been developed in partnership with Subaru.

The new bZ4X concept will be the first model to be part of Toyota’s new bZ (Beyond Zero) series, consisting exclusively of electric vehicles. Toyota has confirmed that its new bZ series will have seven models in its lineup by 2025.

The new Toyota electric SUV also debuts the brand’s new e-TNGA platform developed exclusively for battery electric vehicles (BEV). The use of a BEV-specific platform allows the models to have a long wheelbase and a short overhang, resulting in extended cabin space.

The Toyota bZ4X concept features an extremely unique design, both inside and out. Some of the key design features include the sleek LED headlamps upfront, front bumper with an air intake at the bottom and vents on the side, channelling the air towards the wheels, squarish wheel arches and LED taillights at the back connected by a single LED strip.

Inside, the bZ4X concept features a uniquely styled steering wheel, a low positioned digital instrument cluster allowing for better visibility, a large touchscreen infotainment head unit and plenty others.

Toyota is yet to announce the technical details of its electric SUV. However, Toyota has confirmed that the bZ4X will come with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, using the expertise of Subaru.

The Toyota bZ4X electric SUV will be manufactured in Japan and China. The company is expected to unveil the final production-spec version of the electric SUV by late-2021 or early next year. The start of worldwide sales for the bZ4X is slated for mid-2022.
