Toyota Fortuner facelift spied testing in India

It's been more than a month since the Fortuner facelift was unveiled in Thailand. Now, the updated SUV has been spotted testing in India.

The updated Fortuner gets a redesigned exterior featuring a new grille, headlamps and bumpers. It also gets a redesigned rear fascia with new tail lamp clusters. The test mule seen in these images has an emissions testing kit mounted on the rear and is riding on new design alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Fortuner is likely to get a larger touchscreen infotainment head-unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Other features might include automatic climate control, wireless charging, ambient lighting and 360-degree camera.

In the international market, the Fortuner facelift comes with a more powerful 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine. It produces 201 BHP and 500 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

In India, the Fortuner is currently offered with a 2.7-litre petrol engine producing 164 BHP and 245 Nm and a 2.8-litre diesel unit that makes 175 BHP and 420-450 Nm depending on the choice of transmission.
