Toyota Innova - highest turnover grosser in Indian PV market

Ever since its introduction in 2005, the Toyota Innova has been the segment leader of the full-size MPV marketplace in India. While the company's entry-level models like the Etios and Liva aren’t able to attract volume sales, the Innova is helping the automaker to command a respectable market share. Moreover, in terms of the total revenue generated from a single model, the Innova is currently the highest turnover grosser amongst all automakers in India.

During the past year, the Innova has contributed over $2.4 billion to Toyota's total annual turnover. This is the highest turnover figure achieved by a single car line amongst all companies in the country. In its current second-gen iteration, called the Innova Crysta, the MPV is clocking sales figures in the range of 6,000 - 8,000 units every month, which is more than any other Toyota model currently on sale in the country. The Innova Crysta individually attracts around 50% of the total sales for Toyota in India.

Other models that crossed the $1 billion turnover mark in 2016 include the Mahindra XUV500, Hyundai Creta, Honda City, Mahindra Scorpio, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Vitara Brezza. Meanwhile, the Innova's SUV sibling - the Toyota Fortuner, contributed $500 million to the company's turnover during the same period.
