Toyota Innova: Type 2 to Type 4 facelift conversion

Please help me out with your conversion journey, tips and points to keep in mind. Also recommend places to get it done.

BHPian poorneshshiva recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Hello fellow Team BHPians,

Need your advice on where can I get a Type 2 Innova to Type 4 conversion done.

I live in Bangalore and thought of seeking your advice before proceeding.

Please help me out with your conversion journey, tips and points to keep in mind.

Also recommend places to get it done.

Thanks

Here's what GTO had to say on the matter:

We had covered this in our upkitting thread (Upkitting Supercars & Regular Cars | Conversion to higher variants or editions). Someone has a kit for 1.24 lakhs.

Personally, I think a well-maintained Type 1 Innova still looks really good, especially if you match it with nice rims, a stylish number-plate etc. A close cousin recently got his 15-year old Type 1 Innova a fresh coat of black paint from the Toyota showroom itself. Looks awesome. Will also add that the Type 4 is the ugliest Innova in my opinion.

Here's what BHPian donjacob had to say on the matter:

One of my friends had converted his 2008 Innova to Type 4 in 2017 at Nandi Toyota at Bangalore when his car had a rear shunt. There are many garages who do the Type 1 to Type 4 conversion. I think both the dealers in Kerala; i.e Nippon Toyota & Amana Toyota do this conversion as I have seen posts by both AutoStarke and PerfAmana ( both of these are owned by Nippon and Amana group respectively) on this Type 1 to Type 4 conversion.

If you are looking at aftermarket options, there is a wholesaler in my town who sells this Type 4 conversion kit with imported parts and also facilitates conversion excluding painting in a day.

Here's what BHPian chethan.ram had to say on the matter:

Brotomotive has done Type 1 to Type 4 conversion. Have a look at this video, this should help. These guys are in Pune. However, Google search shows Brotomotive Bangalore in RR Nagar, am not sure if they are the same guys.
