Toyota Liva diesel now available in VD and VDSP trim

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has silently introduced two new variants of the Liva diesel - VD and VDSP, which will sit at the top of the range. While the Liva petrol was available in J, G and V trims, the diesel was sold only in JD and GD variants till now. Like their petrol siblings, the VD and VDSP will feature higer levels of equipment to distinguish them from the JD and GD.

The exterior of the VD and VDSP will get features like a double chrome front grille, front fog lamps, rear wiper and washer, 12-spoke alloy wheels, chrome garnish on the boot and turn indicators on the ORVMs.

On the inside, the VD and VDSP will be given a tachometer, dual-tone interiors, wood grain finished door armrests, a chrome gearshift knob and a bluetooth-compatible audio system. A rear defogger will also be provided.

Additionally, the VDSP variant will sport a leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted audio controls. Safety features like dual airbags and ABS with EBD will be available as well.

Mechanically, the new variants are identical to the JD and GD and will continue to use the same 1364 cc, 4-cylinder D-4D engine, which outputs 68 PS and 170 Nm of torque with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The VD and VDSP trim the car will cost Rs. 6,72,000 and Rs. 7,12,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.
