Toyota has reintroduced 17-inch alloy wheels in the top-spec Z variant of the Innova Crysta. The company has also introduced 17-inch alloy wheels in the Touring Sport edition of the MPV.

It may be recalled that Toyota had discontinued the 17-inch wheels and replaced them with 16-inch rims after receiving reports about excessive tyre wear under heavy loads. With the reintroduction of the 17-inch wheels, the company has used 215/55 section tyres that are claimed to have stiffer sidewalls.

The Innova Crysta Z variant and Touring Sport edition are available with a 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 148 BHP @ 3,400 rpm and 343 Nm of torque @ 1,400-2,800 rpm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. A more powerful 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission is also on offer. This unit produces 172 BHP @ 3,400 rpm and 360 Nm of torque @ 1,200-3,400 rpm.

Apart from the two diesel engines, Toyota offers a 2.7-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine in the Crysta. This unit develops 164 BHP @ 5,200 rpm and 245 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox on the Z variant. In the Touring Sport edition, it is available with a 6-speed automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual gearbox.

According to a media report, Toyota has also added new features to other variants of the Innova Crysta. The GX (base) version gets a rear seat centre arm rest, height adjustable driver's seat and rear air-conditioner vents. The V variant comes with GPS navigation while door ajar warning for all doors is now available on all variants.
