Toyota working on next-gen Harrier SUV; could be coupe hybrid

The new Harrier is expected to be sleeker in design compared to the RAV4

Toyota recently unveiled the new-gen RAV4 SUV, but its not stopping there. The carmaker is now working on an all-new version of its Harrier SUV.

The new Harrier is expected to be sleeker in design compared to the RAV4, and will also be more premium. It will have a longer wheelbase of about 2,770 mm, which is approx 80 mm longer than the current version. With a height of 1,550 mm, it will have a sloping roofline which hints at a coupe-SUV body style.  It is expected to have a length of 4,750 mm.

Inside, it is expected to feature a premium cabin. It will feature a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest connectivity features and over-the-air updates.

In Japan, the new Harrier is likely to get a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. The new motor is designed for better efficiency and performance.

The new Toyota Harrier will make its debut in 2027. It is expected to be called the Venza in the United States.
