TVS Apache RTR 200 4V with slipper clutch launched

TVS has launched the Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition 2.0 with Anti-Reverse Torque (A-RT) slipper clutch. It is available in three variants - the base carburettor version costs Rs. 95,185, while the fuel-injected version costs Rs. 1,07,885. The carburettor with ABS version is priced at Rs. 1,08,985 (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi).

The RTR 200 4V is powered by a 197.75 cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that produces 20.2 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 18.1 Nm of torque @ 7,000 rpm. With electronic fuel injection peak power is bumped up to 20.7 BHP. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch which is claimed to reduce clutch force by 22%. Slipper clutch also improves downshifts and stability of the bike with the back-balance torque limiter effect. It also helps avoid wheel-hopping while cornering.

The RTR 200 4V Race Edition 2.0 is based on a double cradle split frame. The overall length of the bike is 2,050 mm, while its width and height are 790 mm and 1,105 mm respectively. The wheelbase is 1,353 mm and the seat height are 800 mm. The kerb weight of the bike is 149 kg and it comes with a 12-litre fuel tank. Brakes come in the form of a 270 mm petal type disc in the front and a 240 mm disc in the rear. Dual-channel ABS is available as an option.

The updated model gets a revised windshield and body graphics. It comes with a digital instrument cluster and the headlamp has integrated V-shaped LED position lights. The bike rides on conventional telescopic front forks and a monoshock rear suspension. It features an engine cowl, split rear seat, black 17-inch alloy wheels and a side-mounted exhaust finished in black. The new Apache RTR 200 4V is available in four colour options - Black, Grey, Red, White and Matte Black.
