Updated Ford Aspire launched at Rs. 5.55 lakh

Ford has launched the new Aspire in India. The updated model is available in 5 trim levels with prices starting at Rs. 5.55 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 6.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the diesel version.

The Ford Aspire measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,704 mm in width and 1,525 mm in height, while its wheelbase is 2,490 mm. The car weighs between 1,016-1,080 kg depending on the engine and variant. The petrol version comes with a 42-litre fuel tank, while the diesel gets a 40-litre tank.

The Aspire facelift gets a revised front end with a new grille with a chrome border. The front bumper has been redesigned as well and features C-shaped trim around the fog lamp pods. It has new headlights and tail lamp clusters, a new rear bumper and chrome garnish running along the boot lid. The car comes with new design multi-spoke alloy wheels.

The new Aspire comes with dual-tone interiors featuring a new dashboard with black trim. The centre console houses a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC 3, voice commands, navigation and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Lower variants feature a 7-inch touchscreen unit without SYNC 3. It comes with a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a 3-pod instrument cluster. Other features include height adjustable driver seat, rear centre armrest, automatic climate control, engine start/stop button, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, rear view camera and rear parking sensors.

Ford is offering three engine options on the new Aspire. The 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol unit puts out 95 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 120 Nm of torque @ 4,250 rpm and the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine makes 99 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 215 Nm @ 1,750-3,000 rpm. Both engines come paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The 6-speed automatic gearbox is offered with a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine which produces 122 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 150 Nm @ 4,500 rpm.

Safety features like driver and passenger side airbags, ABS with EBD and driver and passenger seat belt reminder are offered as standard across all variants. The top-spec Titanium+ trim gets side and curtain airbags and emergency assistance, while Hill Launch Assist, Emergency Stability Program and Traction Control is available on the automatic variant.
