Updated Honda Activa 125 spotted

Spy Images of what appears to be an Activa 125 test mule have surfaced online, which suggest that Honda could be working on an update for the scooter.

The updated Activa 125 is likely to receive minor aesthetic updates. While, the overall shape looks familiar, parts such as the front fender, rear grab handle and the instrument cluster appear to be new. The instrument cluster has a digital readout and is surrounded by silver trim. Also, a closer look at the switchgear reveals an engine kill switch. The test scooter is sporting front telescopic suspension and alloy wheels similar to the ones on the current Activa 125.

The new Activa 125 is likely to be powered by the same 124.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as the current model. It produces 8.52 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 10.54 Nm of torque @ 5,000 rpm and is mated to a continuously variable transmission. However, Honda might update the BS-IV compliant engine to meet the upcoming BS-VI emission regulations. The new model is expected to get a combined braking system with an optional 190 mm disc brake at the front.
