USA: Hyundai to develop a Pickup Truck

According to a media report, Hyundai is looking to enter the pickup truck segment which is particularly popular in the US.

Back in 2015, Hyundai had showcased the Santa Cruz concept truck at the Detroit Motor Show. The upcoming pickup truck is expected to be based on this concept vehicle. The pickup trucks can be divided into two categories - mid-size trucks which include models like the Ford Ranger and Toyota Tacoma and full-size trucks which consist of the Ram 1500, Ford F150 and the Chevrolet Silverado. It is not yet known where Hyundai will position its new model.

A Kia-version of the same pickup is expected to follow with exterior and interior changes. That said, there has been no official word from Hyundai.
