Validity of vehicle documents extended till July 31, 2020

According to a media report, the government of India has extended the validity of vehicle documents such as fitness certificates, permits, driving licenses and registration documents till July 31, 2020.

The report also states that the government will not charge an additional or late fee for delays in the validation of documents that are pending from February 1, 2020. Also, fees paid on or after February 1, 2020 for the renewal of any of these documents will continue to remain valid.

The decision to extend the validity of the documents has been taken as the country is under lockdown to contain the spread of the Coronavirus.
