Valley Run 2013 drag races flag off at Amby Valley tomorrow

The Valley Run 2013 drag races at the Amby Valley Airstrip will get underway from tomorrow.

The event will provide the first opportunity for enthusiasts to watch Champion American Drag Racer Rickey Gadson, on his maiden visit to India at the event. The ten-time World Drag Race champion will burn rubber on his Kawasaki ZZR 1400 Monster Energy superbike and take a blast down the airstrip on a Rolls Royce-Allison turbine powered MTT Y2K superbike. The Y2K churns out 320 bhp and has a top speed of 370 kmph. It is currently the only one of its kind in India.

The two day event has already attracted strong participation from racers all over India. More than 300 superbikes and cars are expected to take part tomorrow. As of last month, 178 entries (80 percent superbikes & 20 percent supercars) had been received by the organisers for Valley Run 2013. The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) approved drag race will have FMSCI appointed stewards with scrutiny & safety as per guidelines laid down by the FMSCI.

For all those who want to feel the need for speed, season passes (9th & 10th March) are priced at Rs 1,500. Entry passes for individual days will cost Rs 1,100. Click here, for the event website. You can view the detailed Team Bhp thread on the event here.
