Vehicle retail sales up by 11.21% in November 2024

Passenger vehicle sales were down by 13.72% compared to the previous year.

According to the data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), vehicle retail sales grew by 11.21% in November 2024 compared to the same month last year. Overall sales for November 2024 stood at 32,08,719 units, compared to 28,85,317 units in November 2023.

Tractor sales increased by 29.88%, from 61,996 units in November 2023 to 80,519 units last month.

Two-wheeler sales went up by 15.80% to 26,15,953 units from 22,58,970 units in November 2023.

Three-wheeler sales were up by 4.23% in November 2024. 1,08,337 units were sold, compared to 1,03,939 units in November 2023.

Passenger vehicle sales were down by 13.72% compared to the previous year. 3,21,943 units were sold last month, compared to 3,73,140 units in November 2023.

Commercial vehicle sales dropped by 6.08%. 81,967 units were sold in November 2024, compared to 87,272 units in the previous year.

According to FADA, the PV segment faced notable headwinds, with dealers citing weak market sentiment, limited product variety, and insufficient new launches, compounded by the shift of festive demand into October.
