Passenger vehicle sales increased by 15.53% compared to the previous year. 4,65,920 units were sold last month, compared to 4,03,300 units in January 2024.
Commercial vehicle sales also increased by 8.22%. 99,425 units were sold in January 2025, compared to 91,877 units in the previous year.
According to FADA, the passenger vehicle segment showed robust growth. However, the spike stems from December purchases registered in January for a “2025 model year” advantage. Many dealers noted improved demand but also pointed to last year’s heavy discounting, which helped clear older models and shift registrations.
